Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the stability and bioavailability of two stabilized sulforaphane (SF) preparations.
  • To compare the efficacy of stabilized SF with pure SF in cellular and animal models.
  • To assess the potential of stabilized phytochemicals for chronic disease prevention.

Main Methods:

  • Two stabilized SF preparations were tested: an alpha-cyclodextrin inclusion (SF-αCD) and a commercial supplement.
  • Serum concentrations and bioavailability were measured in human volunteers.

  • Further research into stabilized food phytochemicals is warranted for chronic disease prevention and therapy.
  • While promising, the efficacy of topical stabilized SF requires further investigation.
