[Greenland's health care system seen from the front seat]

The Greenlandic health service differs in several ways from that of Denmark--primarily by reason of the country's geography and its small, widely scattered towns. In recent years it has proved very difficult to recruit a sufficiency of doctors and the situation has at times been critical in this respect. The article reviews the organization of the Greenlandic health and medical services together with the pattern of diseases, and analyses some of the elements of the crisis.
