Summary

Subtraction-based difference scores in psychophysiology research, like the error-related negativity (ERN) minus correct response negativity (CRN), can obscure findings. Regression-based methods offer a clearer view of individual differences in psychopathology, such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
