[Artificial crystalline lens of N. M. Sergienko's design--results of 1000 operations]

The technique of extracapsular cataract extraction with implantation of N. M. Sergienko's posterior-chamber artificial lens is simple and does not involve the use of sophisticated expensive equipment. High efficacy of this technique has been demonstrated in 1000 cases. Visual acuity of 0.5-1.0 has been achieved in 88.9% of surgeries, this widening the possibilities of occupational rehabilitation of patients.
