Abstract:
Pterygium is a condition prevalent in the South of this country, in Kirghizia as well as in other regions. The disease is characterized by frequent stubborn recurrences after various types of surgical interventions. A surgical technique that would rule out the disease recurrences is still to be developed. The author suggests a new sufficiently effective method for the removal of pterygium with the formation along the limbus of a barrier of tracheal and bronchial cartilage from fetuses and stillborn babies. The method is simple, its cosmetic effect is good, and the number of recurrences is reduced to 4.1%.
