Methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) nasal colonization in the German population is highly diverse. Clonal lineages of persistent Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) carriers changed over time, with a lower proportion of persistent carriers than previously reported.
