Summary

Markedly increased 2-deoxy-2-(fluorine-18) fluoro-D-glucose (F-FDG) uptake in bone marrow (BM) is a strong indicator of malignant infiltration (MI). This "super BMU" presentation in F-FDG PET/CT scans accurately identifies bone marrow MI, primarily from leukemia and lymphoma.
