  • Digital impressions (n=10 per scanner) were captured using CEREC Omnicam and 3M True Definition scanners with scan bodies. All casts were digitized, and STL files were analyzed for 3D deviations (root-mean-square error) against the master cast.
  • Main Results:

    • Conventional impressions (Group I) showed a mean deviation of 167.93 μm.
    • CEREC Omnicam (Group II) digital impressions had a mean deviation of 46.41 μm.
    • True Definition (Group III) digital impressions exhibited the lowest mean deviation at 19.32 μm. All groups showed statistically significant differences (P < 0.001).

    Conclusions:

    • Digital full-arch implant impressions using both True Definition and Omnicam scanners are significantly more accurate than conventional splinted open-tray impressions.
    • The True Definition scanner demonstrated significantly higher accuracy with fewer 3D deviations compared to the Omnicam scanner.
    • Digital impression techniques, particularly with the True Definition scanner, represent an advancement in achieving precise full-arch implant restorations.
