Summary

Pars Plana Vitrectomy (PPV) can cause corneal epithelial defects (CED), especially in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). DM patients also face a higher risk of delayed corneal healing after PPV surgery.
