Abstract:
The efficient execution of the Le Fort I osteotomy, as is true of any operation, requires a thorough understanding of the steps of the procedure, elimination of wasted motion and hesitation, a reduction of the number of instruments to a minimum, and an avoidance of pitfalls. A technical description of the author's method, which has proven effective, is presented for consideration. Incorporation of some of the tips into one's personal technique will, it is hoped, simplify the procedure, improve the results, and optimize its performance.
