Abstract:
Ten subjects estimated the velocity of simulated radar targets according to the method of constant stimuli. The experimental procedure was rendered automatic through a PDP 12 digital computer, and the data were processed on line. Less than 50 man-hours were required to complete the experiment, a fact which demonstrates the suitability of a small computer when solving specific problems for system designers.
