Summary

Digital ischemia, a rare cancer complication, improved after treating invasive breast cancer in a 50-year-old woman. This case highlights the paraneoplastic syndrome

Background:

Digital ischemia is a rare paraneoplastic phenomenon linked to various cancers, especially adenocarcinomas.
The pathogenic mechanisms of digital ischemia remain largely unknown.
It can present before, during, or after cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Observation:

A 50-year-old woman presented with symptoms of digital ischemia.
Diagnostic evaluation revealed an underlying invasive breast cancer.

Findings:

Digital ischemia significantly improved following successful treatment of the breast cancer.
This suggests a paraneoplastic relationship between the digital ischemia and the malignancy.

Implications:

This case underscores the importance of investigating digital ischemia as a potential paraneoplastic manifestation of cancer.
