Background:

Noninfectious desquamative inflammatory vaginitis (NIDV) diagnosis typically includes autoimmune blistering diseases like pemphigus vulgaris, erosive lichen planus, and benign mucous membrane pemphigoid.
Accurate diagnosis of NIDV is crucial for appropriate management and to differentiate from infectious etiologies.

Observation:

A case study of a 32-year-old woman with persistent, noninfectious, erosive vaginitis is presented.
Vaginal biopsies revealed linear deposits of immunoglobulin A (IgA) along the epithelial basement membrane zone.

Findings:

The observed linear IgA deposits in the vaginal basement membrane zone are characteristic of linear IgA disease.
This finding suggests that mucosal involvement of linear IgA disease can manifest as erosive vaginitis.
