    Purpose of the Study:

    • To review surgical outcomes for femoropopliteal aneurysms.
    • To evaluate the necessity and risks of operative repair for these peripheral aneurysms.

    • Retrospective review of 19 male patients operated on between 1967-1987.
    • Analysis of 26 femoropopliteal aneurysms, including bilateral and multilevel presentations.
    • Assessment of perioperative outcomes and complications.

    Main Results:

    • No perioperative mortality was observed in 19 patients undergoing 26 aneurysm repairs.
    • Six grafts for popliteal aneurysms occluded, and two patients required major amputation due to complications.
    • 14 aneurysms were treated as vascular emergencies.

    • Surgical intervention is crucial to mitigate risks of embolism, thrombosis, and rupture associated with femoropopliteal aneurysms.
