Summary

Gold nanoparticles (AuNP) exposure activated the fish hypothalamus-pituitary-interrenal (HPI) axis, increasing cortisol levels and altering gene expression in the head kidney, indicating a stress response. Different nanoparticle coatings induced distinct molecular responses.
