The uncinate duct, embryologically the main pancreatic duct of the ventral pancreas, may be a distinct subtype of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN). Isolated uncinate-duct IPMN might require management similar to main-duct IPMN due to malignancy risk.
