Abstract:
The aim of this study was to evaluate, in vitro, the antiviral activity of a chemical contraceptive (Nonoxynol-9). The results have demonstrated that such a compound is able to inhibit the infectivity of enveloped viruses. It seems that the activity of this contraceptive is due to the lesion of the envelope.
