  • Administration of oxybutynin (5 mg orally four times daily) led to the complete resolution of methadone-induced hyperhidrosis within two days.
  • This suggests a direct link between methadone use and the observed excessive sweating.

Implications:

  • Healthcare providers should be aware of hyperhidrosis as a potential adverse effect of methadone.
  • Oxybutynin presents a viable and effective therapeutic option for managing methadone-induced hyperhidrosis.
