- Similar trends were observed in the atopic subgroup when analyzing by allergic state.
Conclusions:
- The IL-12B -1188 C allele may confer a protective effect against asthma in individuals of East Asian descent.
- Conversely, the IL-12B promoter MM genotype appears to be a risk factor for asthma in East Asian and allergic populations.
