Summary

Sinus floor augmentation using a balloon system and irradiated cancellous bone allograft effectively increased bone height in the posterior maxilla. This technique offers a viable solution for dental implant placement in atrophied jawbone with no complications.

Area of Science:

  • Oral Surgery
  • Periodontology
  • Regenerative Medicine

Background:

  • Insufficient bone mass in the posterior maxilla is a common challenge for dental implant success.
  • Sinus floor augmentation is a crucial procedure to enable implant placement in this region.
