Lysosomal adaptation: How cells respond to lysosomotropic compounds

Lysosomotropic drugs cause lysosomal stress and dysfunction, triggering compensatory responses. While adaptive changes protect cells, they ultimately impair lysosomal function, revealing a novel stress response pathway.
