Summary

Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC), a rare jaw cyst, presents unique diagnostic challenges. This case highlights GOC

Area of Science:

Background:

  • Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a rare but recognized cystic lesion of the jaw.
  • Its prevalence is low, ranging from 0.012% to 1.3% of jaw cysts.
  • Microscopic features of GOC are well-documented and classified by the World Health Organization.

Observation:

  • A case of GOC is presented in a 28-year-old female.
  • The lesion appeared as a unilocular osteodestructive lesion in the anterior mandible.
  • Clinical presentation mimicked other more common jaw pathologies.

Findings:

  • Diagnosis was established through characteristic histological findings.
  • Microscopic examination revealed features consistent with GOC.
