Using antifibrinolytics in the peripartum period - concern for a hypercoagulable effect?

Antifibrinolytic agents like tranexamic acid do not appear to increase clotting in healthy or obese pregnant women. Further research is needed to confirm the safety of these agents in preeclamptic pregnancies.
