    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To analyze the demographics, injury characteristics, and mechanisms associated with lawnmower injuries in pediatric patients.
    • To identify risk factors and outcomes related to lawnmower-related trauma in children.

    Main Methods:

    • A retrospective chart review was conducted at a pediatric trauma center from 1990 to 2010.
    • Data from 88 pediatric patients under 18 years old with lawnmower injuries were analyzed for demographic and injury characteristics.

    Main Results:

    • Riding lawnmowers were responsible for the majority of injuries (72%), predominantly affecting children under 5 years old (42%).
