Cyclic coding for Brillouin optical time-domain analyzers using probe dithering.
We investigated performance limits in Brillouin optical time-domain analysis (BOTDA) sensors using cyclic coding and probe wave dithering. High probe power enhances signal-to-noise ratio, but introduces distortions. We analyzed these distortions to improve BOTDA performance.
