National guidelines for tinzaparin dosing after caesarean delivery (CD) improved prescribing practices. This led to a significant reduction in venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk, with no cases of pulmonary embolism (PE) post-implementation.

- Conversely, the use of 3500 IU syringes decreased dramatically (P < 0.001).
- Two PE cases occurred between 2008-2010, both linked to inadequate tinzaparin doses; no PE cases were recorded after 9427 CDs between 2011-2014.
Implications:
- National guidelines significantly altered tinzaparin prescribing for VTE prophylaxis after CD.
- Successful implementation of weight-based dosing eliminated PE cases in the post-guideline period, highlighting the importance of adherence.
