Background:

  • Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder.
  • Oral ulcers (OU) are a common and debilitating manifestation of BD.
  • Current treatments for refractory OU in BD have limitations.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the efficacy and safety of ustekinumab for treating oral ulcers in Behçet's disease patients.
  • To evaluate treatment response at 12 weeks.
  • To monitor changes in disease activity and corticosteroid use.

Main Methods:

  • A prospective study involving 14 patients with BD and colchicine-resistant OU.
  • Patients received subcutaneous ustekinumab (90 mg or 45 mg) at weeks 0, 4, and every 12 weeks.
  • Complete response (CR) was defined as the absence of oral ulcers at week 12.
