Echocardiography can predict symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with rheumatic mitral stenosis (RMS) and normal sinus rhythm. Key echocardiographic measurements like left atrial size and interatrial conduction time are significant predictors.

- Specific echocardiographic measurements, particularly those reflecting atrial remodeling and conduction, can identify patients at higher risk for AF.
