    Summary

Impacted mesiodens, extra teeth between the upper front teeth, can harm permanent teeth development. A new surgical stent offers a simple, minimally invasive method for their extraction, protecting adjacent teeth.

    Area of Science:

    • Dentistry
    • Oral Surgery
    • Pediatric Dentistry

    Background:

    • Most mesiodens (supernumerary teeth) remain impacted within the jawbone.

  • Impacted mesiodens can negatively influence the eruption and development of adjacent permanent dentition.
  • Their intraosseous location often involves complex anatomical relationships, demanding precise surgical techniques.
