- High heterogeneity was noted in most analyses, except for HDL and LDL cholesterol.

- HA may offer benefits for glycemic control (FBG, PP2hr glucose, HbA1c) in T2DM patients.
- Limitations in current studies necessitate further rigorous RCTs to confirm efficacy and overcome methodological weaknesses.
