  • 1Joelle M. Lester, J.D., is the Lead Senior Staff Attorney for Strategic Initiatives with the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium, a program of the Public Health Law Center. Joelle oversees programs that convene national thought leaders around bold policy options to end the tobacco epidemic and train and support state tobacco program managers around the country, and also leads the Consortium's FDA Tobacco Project. Joelle also provides legal technical assistance and litigation support on a wide range of tobacco control policy issues to public health professionals, attorneys, and advocates around the country. Joelle received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, located in Madison, Wisconsin. Stacey Younger Gagosian has worked in politics and policy for 20 years. Currently, she is the Director of Public Policy at Truth Initiative, which focuses on smoking cessation and prevention policies. From 2003 until 2008, she was the Legislative Associate at the National Breast Cancer Coalition, successfully working to secure funding for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program and passing the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act. Previously, Ms. Gagosian worked on Capitol Hill in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Ms. Gagosian has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
