  • A case of multi-tiered tuberculous spondylodiscitis with sternal localization is presented in an immunocompetent woman.
  • Symptoms included inflammatory sciatica and a history of low back pain.
  • Diagnosis was confirmed using radiography, CT scans, and vertebral biopsy.

Findings:

  • The patient responded well to anti-bacillary treatment.
  • Despite treatment, multiple paravertebral and subcutaneous abscesses developed.
  • Magnetic resonance imaging confirmed a favorable evolution post-treatment.

Implications:

  • Tuberculosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of spondylodiscitis, especially in endemic areas.
  • Prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential for improving patient prognosis.
  • This case highlights a rare but treatable presentation of spinal tuberculosis.
