Minimal factor XIII activity level to prevent major spontaneous bleeds

A strong association exists between Factor XIII (FXIII) activity and bleeding severity in patients with FXIII deficiency. A FXIII activity level of 15 IU dL-1 is proposed as a target for prophylaxis to prevent major bleeding events.
