Bad bacteria in acute appendicitis: rare but relevant

Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria, including ESKAPE pathogens, are present in acute appendicitis (AA) cases, leading to increased infectious complications and longer hospital stays. While less common than in other abdominal surgeries, MDR bacteria contribute to morbidity in AA patients.
