The authors present a plan they call "CARI Project". "CARI Project" is a work with babies and their mothers in children's institutions. Its objective is to decrease the infant morbidity and mortality rates by means of: observation of the growth measurements, stimulating breast-feeding, oral hydratation and immunizations. The teaching of the four techniques to mothers is suggested.
