Plasma cortisol response cannot be classically conditioned in a taste-endocrine paradigm in humans

This study investigated if taste could condition endocrine responses. Researchers found that while corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) increased stress hormones, conditioned responses were not reliably achieved in healthy males. Higher baseline cortisol may play a role.
