Executive function and cardiac autonomic regulation in depressive disorders

Depression is linked to poorer executive function and reduced heart rate variability (HRV), particularly respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA). While low vagal tone may play a role, the connection to executive dysfunction in depression requires further investigation.
