Decision-making in primary onset middle-age type 2 diabetes mellitus: a BOLD-fMRI study

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) impairs decision-making by affecting prefrontal cortex function. Newly diagnosed T2DM patients show altered brain activity and make poorer choices, especially with poor glycemic control.
