Olfactory Dysfunction Associated With Neuro-Behçet Disease

Neuro-Behçet disease (NBD) patients experience worse olfactory dysfunction than Behçet disease (BD) patients. Neurologic involvement, particularly parenchymal, significantly worsens smell loss in NBD, correlating with disease duration.

- A significant correlation was found between NBD duration and both olfactory and neurologic dysfunction severity.

- NBD is associated with more severe olfactory dysfunction than BD.
- Neurologic involvement, especially parenchymal, significantly contributes to olfactory impairment in NBD.
- Disease duration is a key factor in the severity of olfactory and neurologic dysfunction in NBD.
