Efficient spot size converter for higher-order mode fiber-chip coupling.

    Summary

    We developed a novel silicon spot size converter (SSC) for efficient fiber-to-chip coupling. This higher-order mode SSC reduces coupling loss and is compatible with standard fabrication processes.
