Colonization of the bovine uterus by Candida kefyr

Fungi, specifically Candida kefyr, were found in the uteri of three non-pregnant cows. This yeast colonization was mild, self-limiting, and did not cause significant inflammation or affect subsequent pregnancy.

Background:
