    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To longitudinally track periodontal pathogens in children from 6 to 24 months.
    • To correlate early pathogen presence with maternal oral microbiota.
    • To assess the influence of hygiene and diet on pathogen acquisition.

    • Longitudinal collection of saliva and oral biofilm samples from mother-child pairs.
    • Utilized Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for pathogen quantification.
