Abstract:
This article offers guidelines for introducing dream analysis into groups of older adults engaged in life review. First, it assesses the readiness of members to benefit from dream analysis by presenting four criteria that should already characterize their life review. Second, it examines the background about interpreting dreams which social workers will need. Finally, it elaborates upon a model of dream analysis which engages many older adults by drawing upon their age related facility to access metaphorical thinking.
