Comparison of Supervised Hospital-based versus Educated Home-based Exercise Training in Korean Heart Failure

Supervised hospital-based exercise training (ET) improved functional capacity and quality of life in heart failure (HF) patients. However, home-based ET showed no significant advantages in composite endpoints over three months.

- Quality of life (QOL) improved significantly in the hospital-based group (p=0.003), with no significant difference in cardiac events between groups after one year (p=0.570).
Conclusions:
- Hospital-based ET effectively improves functional capacity and QOL in HF patients.
- No significant superiority of hospital-based ET was observed over home-based ET regarding composite cardiac endpoints.
- Further research is needed to define the optimal roles of different ET programs for HF patients.
