Summary

Interleukin 4 (IL-4) induces Thy-1 expression on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated B cells, identifying them as precursors for immunoglobulin-secreting cells. Interferon-gamma inhibits this induction, while anti-IL-4 antibodies block T-cell-mediated Thy-1 induction on B cells.
