A single nucleotide polymorphism or SNP is a single nucleotide variation at a specific genomic position in a large population. Summary

Genetic variations in pain sensitivity were investigated. While no significant differences were found in candidate genes, specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in ABCB1 and COMT genes were more common in individuals with higher pain sensitivity.
