Summary

Zika virus (ZIKV) infection is not linked to rheumatoid or thyroid autoimmunity. While ZIKV is associated with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), further research is needed on its autoimmune disease links.

Background:

  • Zika virus (ZIKV) infection is known to trigger autoimmune conditions like Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the relationship between ZIKV disease and rheumatic and thyroid autoimmunity.
