Serious Adverse Events Among SPRINT Trial Participants Taking Statins at Baseline

Statin use generally did not increase serious adverse events (SAEs) in the SPRINT trial. However, higher-risk patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) on intensive blood pressure management showed a slight increase in overall SAEs when using statins.
