Studying Protocol-Based Pain Management in the Emergency Department

- Data on time to analgesia, pain relief (change in NRS), patient-reported pain relief (E5 scale), and patient satisfaction (North American Spine Society scale) were collected and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (P < 0.05 significant).

- Patients in the post-protocol group reported significantly higher satisfaction with pain relief (E5 scale: 4.27 vs. 3.91; P = 0.001) and overall treatment (NASS scale: 1.39 vs. 1.59; P = 0.008).
