Optimal bowel preparation times are similar for polyethylene glycol (PEG), PEG/ascorbic acid (PEGA), and sodium picosulphate/magnesium citrate (SPMC). A satisfactory colonoscopy preparation requires at least 8.4 hours for the prep and completion within 11.8 hours.
